Dietary Supplements
Dietary supplements are where Omega-3 concentrates see the widest use — clear softgels, two-piece capsules, liquid-fill, chewable and sachet formats. Here the concentrate is the active, so its concentration, colour and odour end up directly in the consumer’s experience.
Blended EE grades from 65% to 85% cover general-wellness positioning, while the 70–88% EPA-rich and DHA-rich grades let you build a product around a single fatty acid claim. Because NBD oil is nearly colourless (Gardner ≤ 2) and almost odourless, it suits transparent softgels where a dark or hazy fill would be immediately visible.

Pharma & API
For prescription products, clinical nutrition and API supply, impurity profile matters more than cost per kilogram. Our high-purity monomers reach up to 88% EPA or 88% DHA, with the counterpart fatty acid controlled below 0.1% — achieved by physical separation rather than by dilution.
Because the process uses no urea and no toxic methanol, there is no ethyl carbamate and no cis-trans isomerisation — two of the impurity routes most closely scrutinised in concentrated fish oil. Every batch is released against a certificate of analysis, with traceability from raw fish oil intake through to the finished concentrate.

Infant & Maternal
DHA is the long-chain Omega-3 that accrues most rapidly in the fetal and infant brain and retina, and maternal supply is the infant’s only source before birth and during breastfeeding. Formulations in this segment are therefore built around DHA-dominant profiles rather than balanced blends.
NBD DHA-rich grades reach 70–88% DHA with EPA held below 0.1%, giving formulators a clean DHA source for prenatal supplements, maternal nutrition and early-life products. The oil’s low colour and low odour are a practical advantage in chewables, powders and sachets, where fishy notes are a common reason for poor consumer compliance.

Functional Food
Fortified beverages, gummies, dairy, spreads and bars all share one constraint: the Omega-3 must not change how the product looks, smells or tastes. A colourless, nearly odourless concentrate with Gardner ≤ 2 keeps clear beverages clear and leaves dairy and bakery flavour profiles intact.
EE concentrates are typically delivered into food systems as microencapsulated or spray-dried powders, or as emulsions, which protect the oil from oxidation and mask any residual taste. The very low impurity and low oxidation values of NBD oil help extend the shelf life of the finished product.

Pet & Animal
Companion-animal supplements — soft chews, capsules, liquids and powders — carry the same formulation problems as human supplements, plus one more: palatability. A concentrate that has already oxidised tastes rancid to animals and leads to refused doses.
NBD’s low-oxidation, low-odour concentrates give pet nutraceutical brands a more stable raw material for skin-and-coat, joint and general-wellness products. For livestock and aquafeed, the same concentrates are used to raise the EPA/DHA content of the finished ration.

Application questions we get asked
Which grade should I choose for a transparent softgel?
Gardner colour is the deciding factor — above roughly 3 the fill starts to read as yellow, and a clear shell shows it. All NBD mid-to-high concentration grades sit at Gardner ≤ 2, so the choice then comes down to positioning: a blended 65–85% grade for general wellness, or an EPA- or DHA-rich grade for a single-fatty-acid claim.
Will a low-odour Omega-3 reduce aftertaste complaints?
Odour and oxidation are the two drivers of aftertaste. NBD oil is almost odourless and is controlled to low impurity and low oxidation values, and a higher-concentration grade also means less total oil per dose — all three work in the same direction.
Can EE concentrates be used in beverages and other food systems?
Yes, but rarely as neat oil. EE concentrates are normally delivered into food and beverage systems as an emulsion or as a microencapsulated / spray-dried powder, which protects the oil and prevents it from affecting clarity or flavour.
Do you supply material suitable for clinical or API use?
We supply high-purity EPA and DHA monomers up to 88% with the counterpart fatty acid controlled below 0.1%, produced by physical distillation with no urea, no methanol and no solvent residues. Certification status and specific test limits are confirmed per product.
Can you match a specification we already hold?

What documentation accompanies each shipment?
